could not put it down. It is about every parent’s worst nightmare; the attempted suicide of their treasured child. Sue Jackson discovers her daughter’s diary weeks after her daughter walked out in front of a bus. All that time since then she had lain unresponsive in a coma. Why did she do it? Despite respecting her 15-year-old daughter’s privacy, Sue has to have the answer to this question. She has to discover what the terrible secret her daughter wrote about in her last diary entry was all about. She tracks down her best friend and her boyfriend only to find out that her daughter had severed both relationships. She is at her wits end as to how she can solve this chilling mystery. Desperate to gather evidence she slowly realises that she must look further than the obvious and unearth deeply buried family problems to see if the answer lies there. She receives terrifying packages that point to the deepest, darkest most horrendous scenario. Her daughter has been sought out and used in an act of heinous revenge. The problem is that she has suffered episodes of delusions before and her husband, a well-respected MP does not believe her fears and thinks she is becoming obsessive and delusional. Sue will do anything to solve the mystery and save her daughter. But to do so she must confront her demons and put her own life at risk. I cannot commend this novel highly enough. It had everything that it possibly could to make it a great and rewarding read. The suspense never lets up for a minute. It’s a terrific psychological thriller. Utter magic.
