Extraordinary Soundtrack Music,
This review is from: Zombi Holocaust (Audio CD)
The opening track, Fascinating Horror, is incredible - synth texture wash and pulse away whilst a light beat kicks in... This is a hugely brilliant piece of work that bands like ZOMBI and ZOMBIE ZOMBIE brilliantly emulate. By complete contrast, the second track is an acoustic ballad with a slow beat and wordless female vocals and strings. We then get the synth-based theme revisited followed by jazzed up disco burst that leap back into synth pulses.
This is quite an incredible mix of stuff - track 16, a dive in the past, has an experimental, almost free feel to it, with synth waves giving way to a clatter of drums.
This is quite incredible - the 30 tracks are all quite short and it's not something you'd want to listen to in one go, but this is definitely an extraordinary piece of that outclasses the film it is from. If you like Fabio Frizzi, Goblin, Zombi, and the other bands using analogue synths, then you should love this.
