Customer Review

on 21 March 2011
Patrick Stewart fully convinces as the soldier, a man of action and authority, brutal but still sympathetic. The sparse set is haunting and grim, and the Stalinist undertones create a sense of the possibility of real human suffering in this well known story. The witches are always a potential weak spot, but the scence in which they appear to speak through reanimated corpses is powerful. This DVD would be very useful for anyone learning or teaching Macbeth at school, as well as enjoyable for anyone who likes good acting or imaginative production.
