Alan Titchmarsh Stainless Steel Digging Fork,
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Alan Titchmarsh Stainless Steel Digging Fork (Old Version) (DIY & Tools)
We live in Italy with rough, dry ground full of clay which we are actively trying to cultivate and loosen up. Everything is bone dry here; think desert, (but no sand!) and you'll be on the right track. Every fork we have had here broke or bent within weeks. This one is mighty and strong, very lightweight, the handle made of Ash, and the fork is forged as one-piece which comes right up the handle. I've never owned anything quite so sturdy, in fact at this price point, I was amazed to get this level of high quality; it reminds me of tools my Grandad used to use when he was head gardener for the local Manor House. Quality tools ARE still made today, and this is one of them. It turns over clay soil with ease, and because of its slightly curved shaped handle, the leverage is makes lighter work of jobs. I am very pleased with it, delivery was only £6.00 to Italy, how can you go wrong? You do get Alan T's picture on the handle as a bonus, but I don't think that will help our plants here grow quicker! Buy one, (and only buy once) its a work of true solid British craftsmanship that will last for years.
