Good for hobby level work,
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Dremel 3000-15 Multitool, 130 W, 15 Accessories (DIY & Tools)
I wanted a rotary tool for drilling and engraving glass, for jewellery making. I chose this Dremel because it has so many useful accessories; I wanted a drill press, a multi-chuck and a flex extension. Proxxon offer all these things, but are much more expensive, and as my usage is fairly light, I didn't want to spend the extra.
So far, I've been pleased. I understand the critical reviews; both drill and stand are a little flimsy. But it does what I bought it for without serious problems.
Minor issues: when used in the drill press, you need 3 hands to change the bit. One to press the chuck stop which is recessed into the press, one to unscrew the chuck, and one to hold the bit. Some sort of snib to press the button down would be really useful.
And the accompanying information. Why not present the pictures alongside the written instructions? So much easier to follow. And the accompanying DVD isn't great, not exactly inspirational. I would like to see a presentation by an experienced craftsperson showing what is possible with the different accessories.

Just a quick hint for you for changing the bit with just two hands, its quick on the Dremel workstation to rotate the head 90 degrees to horizontal so you don't need the third hand for the bit.

What a good idea! I'll do that in future, thanks for taking the time to post.
