4.0 out of 5 stars Great Boxset, 18 Nov. 2010
This review is from: Predator Trilogy (Collectors 6 Disc Set) [Blu-ray] [1987] [Region A & B] (Blu-ray)
I've just finished watching these films and would like to comment on the picture quality first. Films 1 & 3 both have excellent pictures; and I was especially impressed with Predator given its age. Predator 2 doesn't look quite so good but it was a definite improvement over my DVD copy. There are loads of extras and each film has it's own Blu-ray keep case. The picture Amazon is displaying is wrong though. If you expect that nice white box with the Triple Play banner you won't get it. The three films are in a silver slipcase with red writing.
Personally I thought Predators was an excellent sequel to the original and I found it very exciting. The worst of the bunch is Predator 2; which, while still being a good film in its own right, it not as good as the other two.

Agree, the picture quality of the first predator film is amazing, some complain about a few waxy looking faces in a few scenes but its a small price to pay for the overall picture quality, thankfully the ultimate edition was included in this box set rather than the first blu ray release of the first film which was nothing more then a DVD copied onto blu ray.

Just a little pick, I just saw the Spanish edition in a store, and it is the nice white design, slim case. Very nice...but quite more expensive than this one. What are the languages and subtitles of this UK edition? I think Amazon UK simply does not provide this information a bit too often.

It does indeed, thanks a lot. However, I already bought the Spanish edition, a special one with a nice Predator mask, very much like those of Batman for The Dark Knight or the first Iron Man. But thank you, really!!

Jo Go....I think you need to re-read my review. I said "doesn't look quite so good but it was a definite improvement over my DVD". I wasn't saying it was not good quality; only that it wasn't as good as Predator. It's a huge improvement over the DVD releases. Overall, I'd recommend this set to anyone who's thinking of upgrading from DVD.
