Great for students!,
This review is from: Heinemann Advanced Shakespeare: "Othello" (Paperback)
I bought this book as I'm studying Othello for A Level English Literature. I won't go into the storyline, as other reviews have explained this (and it is easily Google-able!)
This edition is extremely helpful for studying the text - especially if you aren't very confident with Shakespearean language - as it gives definitions of words and phrases on the left page while the play itself is on the right, so you can understand what you're reading as you go along. There is also a short summary of what is happening at the top of each left page.
At the end of each act, there are 'Activities' comprising of questions, which prompt you to think about the characters and their actions in more detail. There are also notes about Imagery and the Key Scene of each act.
The back of the book contains notes about characters, language, structure, themes etc. These prove useful for developing further understanding of the play. It even gives an example essay answer!
All in all, a good choice.
