Customer Review

on 19 June 2013
I ordered the Maxsima "Now made of Alloy" 58mm adapter and received an anodised aluminium one made by Kiwifotos, yet the packaging still said Maxsima.
(Since the highly rated, LensMate adapter, made from delrin, has been discontinued, I had specifically searched for an alloy one in the hope that there would be less chance of filter binding than with ABS or Aluminium.)
However, apart from the above, I am reasonably pleased with it, it fits firmly on my G1X. The only slight disadvantage maybe, (I don't have another to compare it with), is that the ring thickness is rather ott at 3mm which causes it to stick out quite a bit from the lens surround. It seems well made and robust though, and filters fit as they should.
EDIT: NB. You cannot attach a Cokin/Kood "A" square filter holder with this ring, as the 3mm edge is too thick for the 1.5mm gap between holder and cokin/Kood adapter.
