Makes you think....about what you're thinking...and why.,

I've used this book over the last few years, dipping in and out as and when....and to be honest, it kind of puts things into perspective. Has it influenced my development and outlook - yes. For the better? Yes. There are some good case summaries which perhaps many of us can relate to - and thus benefit from. I've also been able to share much of what I have gleamed with others relating it to their situations with good effect/results.
A simple lesson for me was understanding that we as humans create a picture of the world, then seek, see, hear only those things which reinforce our view of the world. Why and how we build this view is also discussed.
Dr Sarah Edelman has attempted to cut the theory behind CBT and provide a practical self help guide. It's not something i'd recommend reading from cover to cover, but dip in as and when required!
