Perhaps not as "magnificently realised" as Snow Goose or Moonmadness, this album has some great moments by people who could really play (!) and who had loads of fun doing it...
I think it fair to say that all recordings licensed to Decca (as this one was/is) would have been mastered from the very best master tapes they had available (at worst an identical "safety" master made on a different make of tape just in case...). The original CD was excellent, needing very large speakers (by todays standards) to hear at its best (and how the re-mastering engineer(s) there heard it...). perhaps the fadeout of the awesome "The White Rider" was "assisted" just a touch too much compared to the LP, but I'm nit picking.
Now there's an extended version out, I hope the mastering is as good as reported here previously (I'll edit this review when I have listened to it).
Warmly recommended release from a "golden age" of musicianship !
