first of all when i heared that creed broke up was was gutted, and a friend told me to listen to alter bridge, he said they are creed but have a new lead singer and are more aggresive i was like oh na it wouldent be the same it would be like betraying creed, and off course back then i was not into guitar solos and dident play then but loved mark tremonti.
eventually i listened to if i remember righty open your eyes first and i was completley blown away by the opening riff and myles powerfull voice. and at around 2:45 in the song u can feel the solo build up and tremonti litterley shreads but its a shread with a melody in contex with the song i just had to buy the album.
moving on to the album every song is a masterpiece from the opening riff on find the real tremonti tells you creed are long gone now i'm letting lose and showing the world what i am really made off the solo in this song is a very strange one but earth shattering.
in loving memory, mark wrote it for his late mother, listen to the intro/outro it is so fitting for a song which is for a passed loved one, and myles kennedys voice is simply spectacular.
in no particular order moving on to broken wings, the clean intro/outro again is wonderfull and i am sure its takin from blues scales because it sounds bluesy, the chorus is very powerfull and shows off myles voices to the extreme. And thi song was actually written during the creed era and was ment to be on a next creed album but thankfully they split.
Metalingus, what can i say 1 of the few songs on the album that doesant have a face melting guitar solo but yet it is 1 of my faveroute songs on the album, WWE pro wrestler EDGE uses part of this song for his entrance music. This song definetly shows off scott phillips the drummer and brian marshall the base player but has a awesome heavy riff in the middle, god bless u mark.
ok, Burn it down, starting off soft and slowly like a ballad then comes in like thunder, i think the solo is the most intricute on the album and it comes in at the very last 40 seconds on the song, and boy does it come in.
down to my last, hard to say but maybe my faveroute song on the album, it starts of heavy with a intro from mark as do most of the songs then the band coming in. a brilliant chorus and yet again myles is phenomonal as are flip and brain, the solo is my faveroute on the album it has a real presence with the wah wah. what a song
ok i think i have wrote enough, weather ur a creed fan and has not yet listened to AB or a rock lover or a big guitar kinda person this album is perfect. the album is simply perfection. and i cant wait untill july 30th brand new single called RISE TODAY and come october 9th will be ABs 2nd album entitled BLACKBIRD. i hope this long review has helped u find ur path the 100% rock and roll madness.
