It's a large light - fairly long neck, and a big head. Of course, it needs to be, to produce sufficient light output!
The light produced is bright and even - with the diffuser fitted it's a bit softer and ideal as a "task" light when working on something; without the diffuser, it's far more powerful (and needn't be used as long).
I work from home, so I have this near my work area, a bit off to the side of my laptop and behind but aimed roughly towards me. It could be placebo effect, but it does seem to help, some days more than others; sometimes I do think I feel a little more awake and mentally alert after using it for a while.
The touch-sensitive on/off button is also the brightness control in 4 steps, and is a little fiddly - it doesn't always seem to react to touch, and there's no indication of which brightness level is currently selected, so it goes from off -> 1 -> 2 -> 3 -> 4 -> off. Personally, I'd prefer to be able to control the brightness more accurately, but it does do the job, and gives you the option of having less power if using it just as a lamp all day.
