When I opened the box to my first SSD I almost fell of the chair laughing. Is that it? Is that all there is? My surprise at how small and insignificant SSD drives are was soon replaced by the thought: "How the hell do I fit this inside my PC?"

Essentially, this is a plastic box with a plug/socket combination inside which lines up with an SSD power and data sockets and proves output sockets identical in position to a conventional Hard Disk Drive. The box dimensions and mounting holes are exactly the same as a 3.5 inch hard disk drive. That's all there is, and that's all there needs to be. Installation is simple. Slide off box lid. Place SSD into box. Replace lid. Job done.
One thing to note. Inside is a mechanism which is supposed to lever the SSD into the waiting sockets as the lid is slid shut. I didn't have much confidence in this, so I gripped the two sides of the SSD and made sure it was properly seated 'before' sliding the lid back on.
So, from opening the Amazon box (which arrived two days before the estimated delivery date) to installing the SSD and rebooting my PC took about sixty seconds. It really is that easy. 5 stars!
