Customer Review

on 21 March 2013
Having written lots and lots of UI Javascript over the last 2 years as a Web Developer, I was looking at new ways to streamline and structure my code. Having also dabbled in iOS Development and the Cocoa Touch Library, Sencha Touch seemed like the perfect crossover of these technologies.

The book starts out by documenting the various components and architectural paradigms of the language (making it great as a reference) before going on to providing concrete examples of how each of these work.

The book does not attempt to lead you through the creation of a whole sample application allowing it to be concise whilst still feeling like they have covered an awful lot. I think this style is perfectly suited to an intermediately skilled programmer where little time is wasted on the basics and you get into the real 'meat' of the language quickly.

Needless to say I have been very impressed by Sencha Touch 2 (as a framework) and I would definitely recommend this book as a good entry point.
