Chose this after reading many, many reviews. Diminishing eyesight called for bigger screen and this meets requirements in that respect.
Good: Excellent quality screen. I don't possess any kind of smart phone or tablet, but found it easy to use, and learn, once I got used to 'sweeping' screen with finger. Performed well in Auto or Smart (successfully used Action Freeze, Sunset and Macro; not impressed by Waterfall). Easy to edit photos with Photo Wizard (colour adjustment, downlight, sharpen, crop etc), so little/no editing on computer afterwards. Useful to rename photos instantly i.e. name place/location. Compared to my Canon point and shoot, the zoom really opens up possibilities.
Tip: recommend sticking on a screen protector immediately, before use.
Niggles: Slow to get into action mode when turn on each day, like a computer rather than a camera. Do this before you see anything you want to shoot. Battery life seems limited: on holiday in Scotland recently, I never got through a full day without changing the battery. So it's essential to have spare charged battery with you, if you might take a lot of shots. Doesn't seem to have timer possibility. Can be time-consuming to transfer photos onto Mac.
