this has some good points of information but i feel it doesn't explain how devastating it is to have a diagnosis, which few people know anything about and as a whole use it as a way to judge you. i don't agree with the idea that artists are more likely to have it. i believe that because of the nature of their work which deals in emotion and life, they are more likely to talk about it. bi polar is genetic and the sufferer should be given respect for having to suffer an illness which affects the brain and its functioning. they are no different when they are well than any other individual and it is just random bad luck to suffer it in the first place. anyone who judges a person who suffers a brain illness should remember that it can develop at any age. so they should be careful who they mock as they could be next!
