I bought the original on vinyl as an import many years ago and wore it out. The CD is longer than the album and loses a little edge over the 33rpm version, possibly due to the digital recording, but still captures the raw excitement of the band live.
There may be a couple of doctored studio tracks on the CD, but the frantic pace and the bum notes give this away as the real deal for most of the songs. As others have pointed out live sets in those days were short and usually the bill would contain several artists on the package. A half hour set was a good one; often 20 minutes was the norm, not like Springsteen playing 'til they cut the power off.
The album took me back about 5 years; the CD takes me back nearly 50 years now and I love it!
