This review is from: The Simpsons - Season 2 [DVD] (DVD)
All Simpsons fans here in the UK need to know the following:
Episode #8, Bart the Daredevil has been cut in order for the DVD to get a PG rating. Yes the classic scene of Homer jumping and falling down Springfield gorge in edited so you dont see Homer fall and bump painfully (and hilraliously) down the gorge. Nor do you see the following fall from the crashed ambulance.
This is important because said scene happens to be a an time classic comedy scene. Its like cutting out the "Drinking Problem" scene from Airplane. Made me mad and rate the otherwise fine DVD at 2 stars.
If you can stand this scene missing then of course the shows are excellent.

Thanks A. Customer for bringing this fact to my attention. I had this set in my basket when I decided to check out the reviews again. I totally agree with you this this is a serious omission. I was buying this set for my wife as it contains her favourite episode which is this one, but its no good with this cut. The Simpsons was never aimed at kids anyhow so why cut an adult cartoon for this ridiculous reason!!! Needless to say I deleted my order. Thanks again A. Customer.

My season 2 box set was not cut in any way at all. The scene in question was fully intact.

ignore this review. the scene is completely intact. And the 'second fall' was never seen in the original broadcast. It never existed.

The second scene from the ambulance can only be seen in that special episode hosted by Troy McClure as it was a deleted version.
