The camera that taught the art of photography,
This review is from: Panasonic Lumix TZ10 Digital Camera - Black (12.1MP, 12x Optical Zoom) 3.0 inch LCD (Camera)
At the time I purchased this camera, there wasn't a single camera in its class that could top it. It was the world's greatest advanced compact, and at an excellent price. Panasonic have continued its legacy with the TZ20 and TZ30 since, but as brilliant as they are, they are much more expensive and this one is being sold cheaply in very good condition. It's not as if it's outdated - the features are all very high quality & up to date, and I still use it to this day. I've taken some excellent pictures with it, improving over the two years I've had it.
Before this I had a very simple Kodak digital point-and-shoot (7mp, 3x zoom etc.) and the upgrade to this one completely revolutionised my photography - I am about to sell this camera to raise something towards a new Panasonic G3, as I am now at the level of being able to use a CSC. The manual settings on the TZ10, combined with its compact size and sublime ease of use allowed me to learn about photography properly, without being out of my depth [of field ;)] too quickly.
It is also, as advertised, an excellent travel companion - compact, portable and with a very convenient built-in GPS. I have taken this camera on countless trips and holidays and have had great results. I'm actually going to miss the camera, but I'm after some more professional gear now, to improve quality even further.
-Great image quality for compact camera
-Low-light performance is impressive for this category
-Perfect combination of advanced manual features and intuitive auto options
-Simple, easy use
-Plenty of fun features to play about with
-Excellent travel options (GPS etc.)
-Older model now
This is a brilliant little camera and I would highly recommend it for the budding enthusiast wanting to build up their skills, or for anyone wanting fantastic quality holiday photos in a portable and convenient 'Travel Zoom' camera.
