Superb photography by a master at the peak of his profession. Sefton Samuels not only has the technical skills necessary to wonderfully record his subjects but also the gift of knowing what, where and when to capture.
His stunning photographs remind so many of us of a certain age just how things were not so very long ago. In the context of the North, Samuels' images are the equivalent of Lowry's painted canvasses - I can pay no higher tribute than that.
A very worthwhile purchase for those who would like to be whisked back in time or a tasty sampler for those too young to have personally experienced life back then.
(Incidentally, if you ever visit the Trafford Centre, pop in to the Wetherspoon's pub which has a fine display of Samuels' work along with a portrait of the maestro himself).
