Car Crash Starcrash,

The acting is soooo wooden. The spaceships soooo models. The space scenario is so a curtain with holes and lights. The script is so naff. The plot is so poor. But this film has long had a legendary status and now I know why. It IS so bad it's good!
Made on (obviously) a fraction of the Star Wars budget this movie should be 60's technicolour but is actually from the same year as the Lucas epic. The cast look as if they enjoyed hamming it up, or were so bored they didn't even bother to act! So an evil Count is prepared to destroy everything to become master of the universe and the only thing that stands in his way is (allegedly) Stella Star, the smuggler pilot of a spaceship. Not sure how much of that last bit is true as Caroline Munro looks so fabulous with her delectable cleavage bursting out of her costumes for the best part of the movie but does she really save the universe? Who cares when she is looking so sexy and strutting her stuff in true 70's fashion (literally)! The arrival of the The Hoff as the movie heads towards the last half hour adds more eyeliner and cheese and gives Munro a love interest to make up for the non-human partner and the robot she has been paired with until then. And guess what, the universe is saved!!
As a lover of the old Doug McClure films (Land and People That Time Forgot, At The Earth's Core, etc.) I can appreciate this film as it is but I had to dock a star as it didn't quite match those other films mentioned, saved simply by Caroline Munro and her sexy cleavage.
Mind you I half expected Austin Powers to suddenly appear, look Stella Star straight in the bosom and say "Ohh, do behave!".
