Customer Review

on 18 October 2013
I had read Empire Falls when it came out and liked it and I liked the parts of this book that dealt with the trip to Venice and the protagonist's relationship with his brother. However the interweaving chapters about Nate's problematic relationship with a young student are marred by a totally unrealistic portrayal of an Aspergic person and what it means to have Asperger's Syndrome. A little bit of research by the author would have revealed what an Aspergic person's behaviour is like, and if this didn't fit with the story, he could have made her condition something else.
