When you finally figure out how to get this working, I think you will find it worth the money. I spent some time trying to get it to work and initially failed, even some research on t'internet gave some conflicting advice. Here are my tips for getting it working;
Choose one app and stick with it. On the iphone 4s I've got Endomondo and mapmyride to work fine, but not if you have them running at the same time. When you turn bluetooth on (and I'm not entirely sure you need to) it wont 'pair' as a normal bluetooth device will. This is a low energy bluetooth. After you have installed the app suggest you close every single app so none remain when you do a double press of the home button and do a reboot Open up the app you want and follow the instructions. You should see the greyed out BT symbol flash a few times and then work. Be patient, if it doesnt connect immediately, stop fiddling and put you iphone down and give it a minute.
Once you have it working I strongly suggest you stick with the one app. They dont seem to like co-existing. If you do have more than one app, close all apps (double home button) and reboot, I've had no success switching between apps without a reboot. I hope this will be fixed in either a OS update or app updates.
When you have it up and running, it reads the same as gym equipment as it does on my iphone. It comfortable to wear but i do wonder how long the strap will last as its nowhere near as robust as the old type, but at least the battery is now replaceable.
The manual is worse than useless, a complete waste of paper. It says that the iphone or whatever receiving device should be carried at the front of the body as alledgedly it wont work through body tissue. I've only used this so far in the home and it works fine when in a back pocket. This may be due to reflection from the walls but in this scenario its fine.
Once updated to iOS6, this works like a dream, none of the above needed. Just keep Bluetooth switched on and open up whatever app you want and it will just work. This now gets 10/10 with no weak points.
