Could Have Been Better Presented,

This review is from: Underground: How the Tube Shaped London (Hardcover)
The format of the book is clumsy. It is littered with prints, colour plates and old photographs throughout. It starts off well but then tails off missing out rather too much about the actual underground. The war years were quite interesting but seemed rushed. The book itself is too large and not easily read in bed nor will it sit nicely on a bookshelf/case because of this. It is only some 280 pages long and could have been printed in normal book format. In my view too much has been missed out.A better history of the underground is sure to be published in future making this interesting subject a worthwhile read.
