Customer Review

on 11 July 2012
I'm reviewing this sometime after buying it (7 years) - but it's still a great book and I continue to use it.
The flexibility of Unix/Linux means that it comes with a bit of a steeper learning curve than Windows - although the later distro's like Ubuntu are much more user-friendly these days.
This book will help you delve under the covers of linux a bit more, introducing you to the file-systems, networking, a bit of C programming and shell manipulation.
Its really well written, not too dry and does a good job of being broad but with just enough depth for those starting out with linux.

Definitely recommended.
