I love this book as it is just so interesting, and is very useful for those interested in Jane Austen's books as well as those interested in the fashions of the period. Taking images and the descriptions of the fashions that are shown on the pages of this book, all reproduced from 'Ackermann's Repository of Arts', from 1809-1820, you can easily find yourself lost and immersed in the period. Full of beautiful illustrations and the original descriptions that went with them this is a very insightful look at the Regency period and hopefully will give you a greater appreciation of the time.
You need a tablet device to view this properly. If you use it in the landscape position then you can read the descriptions whilst viewing the pictures they allude to. I used an i-Pad to read this and so I can double tap on the images to magnify them, of course, other devices may have different instructions to magnify or zoom in. This book also has an active table of contents so that you can find particular hats or clothing if you so wish.
Already being conversant with the carriages of the period, and some of the fashions I found this ideal. I think this is a very useful accompaniment for those who have an interest in this particular time period.
