This review is from: Centurion (Eagles of the Empire 8) (Paperback)
I've never quit on a book before now. I believe that this is a book in a series as well. Thank goodness I never had to read through the other 2 books. Absolute childish rot. This book is an insult to an adults intelligence. It is the worst book I have had the misfortune to pick up. The dialogue is a joke, and there is so much of it. Whatever happened to the narrative. This book is the biggest load of nonsense going, avoid like the plague.

R. D. DBaxter says:
The other two? I think you have thw rong series, considering there are another 7 before this one...read the first books before you read the last book, otherwise no series of books makes sense.

Mr. R. J. Langrish says:
if you knew anything about this excellent series you would realise that this is book number 8
you are obviously not qualified to review this as you know nothing about it.
i just hope that you do not mislead too many people with your ignorant comments.

You've reviewed 3 books and give them all 1 star. We can take from this that you are a Victor Meldrew. Please stop watering down start ratings with your negativity about fiction!!!!

I've read the whole series up to The eagle in the sand. From a promising start, they have undeniably become progressively worse since moving away from Britain. If you want to see how momentum should be kept in a series, read Cornwell's Sharpe.
