Customer Review

on 4 July 2013
Having watched series 1 and 2 in a week I couldn't wait to start series 3 and see how Robin and Guy were going to cope after Marian's death. Sadly, the show was let down by the finale. Every episode was leading up to this epic battle that was going to take place during episodes 12 and 13, and I completely disagree with the ending. I don't think they should have ended it the way they did - maybe I'm just a sucker for a happy ending.
SPOILER: Also Allan could have had a better send off as you didn't really get a proper goodbye.
Kate was a good character to start with but gradually became annoying. Toby Stephens, who played Prince John, completely stole the show with his spoilt-brat-almost-camp portrayal. The Sheriff wasn't as funny as he had been in previous series, neither was Much. Tuck was okay but I didn't agree with him being a warrior as he's supposed to be a monk.
There were no audio commentaries which was a shame as I love those because the actors can provide their thoughts on the episodes. Still no interview with Joe Armstrong or discussion about his character Allan - which I understand because he's a very private person - but perhaps the other actors and crew could have talked about Allan?
Another big disappointment was the fact that "A Clue: No", "This/Him/Her I do not like" and, my personal favourite, "I'm not being funny but..." were not said once, every episode I looked forward to hearing these catchphrases and was let down.
This series was not as good as the other 2 series which is a great shame as it all started so well.
