I bought this book to read on the plane. However, that doesn't tell you how useful it is. It is a little book full of answers to the questions you want to ask. It is divided into chapters on buying fabrics, choosing gadgets, marking, applique, framing and many more. Each chapter gives you masses of information, some from different points of view, which I found particularly good. You can see all the arguments for and against pre-washing fabrics, for example, and then make up your own mind. I return to its chapters again and again, each time I have another question. What is the best way to join bindings? How do I do mitred corners? What thread is best for quilting and should it be waxed? The list goes on. Read it (frequently). You'll enjoy it, learn a lot, and be inspired.
