really poor romantic comedy,
This review is from: Bridget Jones 2: The Edge of Reason [DVD] (DVD)
Renée Zellweger (Chicago) reprises her role as the overweight sex wanting woman, now settling in with her boyfriend, until other influences start affecting their relationship.
This is an exceptionally poorly constructed film. Having not been a huge fan of the first one anyway I wasn't expecting much from this anyway except a few laughs, and I didn't even get that.
Most people believe the sequels are never a patch on the original but even I didn't think a sequel could be this bad.
Similar jokes, storyline, plot, setting, characters, there is simply nothing new in this romantic "comedy" one scene in particular is the carbon copy from the first (the plane filming scene)
Its flat all the way through with predictability written all over. The ending is a great definition for cliché as is the beginning and pretty much every other scene.
However there are some unpredictable scenes and I prayed they would stay at the clichés they were that bad. It was not realistic and something's would simply never happen in real life, making the film extremely hard to accept.
The ending is so bad I felt sick.
Poor throughout, the sequel to the smash hit Bridget Jones' diary fails to deliver on any level and is not worth time, effort or money.
