I bought this for my son along with the ABRSM Grade 1 Sight Reading book and, although its quite different, I liked it and think its complements it well. It is set out in stages and each stage introduces or practises a different element. This works well as you get a chance to become really familiar with one aspect before moving on. My only criticism is that the book assumes some degree of musical knowledge ora music teacher nearby! Although there are notes at the start of each section which make most points simple, some things like accents and staccatos are introduced but not explained, which meant I had to find out about these separately.Would still recommend to anyone wanting to practise sight reading.
