Perhaps the first thing a reader will notice is the lack of speech marks. Do not be put off, this doesn't mess with the story at all.
In my opinion this helped with the style of writing - the novel flowed just fine. I had no problems deducing who was talking and when.
This was a fascinating novel that got me thinking about several scenarios/situations/possibilities about our species future, issues that all should be aware off. The characters weren't always covered deeply, but that was fine, the extra depth wasn't needed. It was easy to get a sense of who they were and the type of person they were.
It's not military sci fi, it's not space opera. It's a sci fi novel for thinkers, and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
