After settling on the latest version of VMWare Fusion, I decided to order the box instead of ordering a product key online. Safe to say, I made the right decision. Inside the box was a nice printed manual, the product key, stickers, a cd and a 2gb usb stick in case you don't have a cdrom drive! At the front, the box also opens to reveal various details about the product which is a nice touch. The box also doubles as a nice accessory for the office.
Installing is as easy as double clicking the application on the provided installation medium - I was up and running within minutes!
I've used just about every virtualization software for the Mac, and TBH VMWare is hard to beat. It's easy to use, has good virtual hardware, and is well supported. The only other commercial product i've used is Parallels, and while that works I felt the product support was lacking. I've also used Virtualbox which is free, but both its interface and feature set is sadly lacking when compared to VMWare.
One major criticism of this product however is that 3d performance is not as good as with native hardware, but this problem is shared across all solutions. If you want a windows gaming machine which can run crysis, you're better off just using a real windows box. Otherwise general performance is not too different than what you get from bootcamp, though depending on what you are running your experience may vary.
