Like many short guides (see some of my other reviews) this one suffers from the brevity its format demands. Unlike many others, it packs a lot in, is systematic and well-presented. Having all three together is a big plus. Bigger still, are the few moments of insight I got from good ideas put in new ways, which made me think. Clearly targeted at managers of small business projects, this guide will (unlike several of its competitors) allow a new PM to navigate their first project. Like its competitors, the new PM will soon want to know "how" to a wide range of specific skills like managing risk. Hence the limitation of the format.
Oh yes, and if you want to plan a simple project by Post It note - a favourite technique of mine - this has a great description of how.
