i purchased this media player a few days ago, but im not sure if it is what i expected it to be, i want to know if i was to download movies onto an external 1tb hard drive can i attach it to the o!play and view it on my hd tv.

Yes. That is exactly what it is for. The drive can either be on the network or attached via USB. Haven't tried the latter myself.

The external hard drive may have to be formatted to FAT32
