I read The Hobbit when I was quite young and long before the Lord of the Rings was adapted to “a” movie. Overall the product is quite good as you would expect it and the cover is pleasing to the eye and the touch.
The extended edition makes it a bit more interesting to watch the first movie of The Hobbit although something troubles me greatly.
The standard BR edition was released in April while this extended edition in November. Would that mean that whoever is eager to buy the second instalment will be left with the standard edition when before the third movie is released, an extended edition of the Desolation of Smaug will be available?
Another thing is how they never make available the theatrical version along with the extended one. I remember when they did that for Beauty and the Beast 3D edition a few years back and it was a delightful way to choose which one you wanted to watch. Yet for what the extended edition is offering as extra minutes I guess it’s not much but still the thought remains.
