Into The Wild is a masterpiece, there's no other word for it. It's an amazing story told very well. I love all the actors in it - particularly Hal Holbrook who plays the old man, Ron. It conveys the essence of freedom perfectly and it is a fun, entertaining, emotionally powerful one-man road trip adventure story and it is amazing. You will remember Into the Wild forever. It's a beautiful film, with beautiful characters and beautiful music; when I finished watching the film for the first time, I just stared at the menu screen for ages, listening to the music and imagining the story in my head. The soundtrack is especially beautiful and straight women, gay men, straight men and gay women will find Emile Hirsch is hypnotically good-looking too. (I'm sitting in a room with my girlfriend and 3 other girls - film starts, Emile Hirsch arrives and there is a murmuring sigh around the room, while Louise blurts out lustfully: hello!) If you're a film student, you need to watch this. If you're an academic, you need to watch this. If you just want to be entertained, then watch this. If you want to watch some mind-numbing action horror rubbish, don't watch this, it will disappoint you, as it has developed characters and emotional depth.
