Reception of Freeview in a fringe area,
This review is from: Thomson Top Up TV - 160GB Freeview Digital TV Recorder (Electronics)
I live in deepest Bucks where reception of VHF radio/Digital radio/Freeview TV can only be described as fair/poor. Previous reviews of this product by other users had suggested that one needed to be in an area with a strong signal but I bought it. True to form, it didn't work initially and, worse, it interfered with the reception of my Freeview TV (when connected as per the instructions). Then I bought a powered aerial splinter and connected one of its outlets to the Thomson box and the other to my Freeview TV. The effect was that the box worked properly and it didn't interfere with the TV. I am delighted with its performance. The only reason for not giving the product a 5star rating is the I had to invent a solution for myself: there were no hints in the booklet!

Mr. D. Donaldson says:
"I had to invent a solution for myself: there were no hints in the booklet!" If one was to look at the problems this guy had before he even bought the item,no wonder there was no hints of a solution in the booklet. There is nothing wrong with the product at all yet he was "kind enough" to award it 1 rotten star! If i was the seller i would tell him where he could stick his one star and i would happily come along and "fix" it up for him. What a prat!
