I have enjoyed all of the author's previous books but this one drew me in in a way the others have not. There were the usual ingredients; Italy, religion, food but the main emphasis and the theme throughout was the importance of family. The descriptions of the various locations of the book brought them to life and you almost imagined you were in the Italian Alps and could feel the mountain air. There was a sadness to the story which lingered when I had finished reading. Lots of women will empathise with the sentiment "I really enjoyed it and had a good cry." Adriana Trigiani is a very talented writer and this book displays those talents fully.
