Roger Raises A Few Eyebrowse,
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: The Man Who Haunted Himself (Region 2 Import) (DVD)
I first saw this film when I was eight years old and it totally creeped me out. Firstly seeing Roger Moore as a stiff business type with a horrible moustache and secondly exhibiting frailties one never normally associated with the Saint. Upon revisiting the film as an adult I was delighted to say how much I enjoyed it. There is much to enjoy on this European Region two import. The DVD transfer is pretty good as are some of the extras, notably a featurette where Gremlins directer Joe Dante gives his opinion of the film. The Man Who Haunted Himself seldom if ever appears on TV or cable and that is a shame. Its a gripping, thought provoking film shot with a real visual flare the like of which is missing in a lot of contemporary psychological thrillers. Its a pity Roger Moore was never offered many meaty roles as he conducts himself with real aplomb here. Highly recommended four stars.
