I mistakenly assumed that this book was part of this author's "Alien Huntress" series; however as it is part of the same Universe; and in fact a few familiar AIR agents make an appearance, I wasn't left feeling in the dark having not read book 1 "Last Kiss Goodnight".
Infamous pro footballer, powerful Arcadian alien and secret black ops agent, Corbin Blue has quite the reputation as a lady killer. Left for dead when his mentor Michael and his friends go missing, Blue knows of only one person he can trust; Michael's daughter Evie.
Evie is an ex-agent and now successful surgeon, but handy explosive gadgets and customised poisons are always near to hand should she need them. She's feisty and funny, and the contents of her handbag never failed to amuse. Her verbal sparring with Blue is definitely humorous, whilst the sexual tension between them is as explosive as the action packed story line.
Now my gripes with this book. It seems as if GS is prepared to brush aside Blue's initial inability to remain faithful because it's part of his undercover job to seduce and use females and he makes it clear to his girlfriends that he will continue to sleep around. Blue is portrayed as hating this lifestyle, but I questioned why he continued to do it; especially considering his unique and powerful alien abilities. Evie is also a little too understanding when she learns that Blue doesn't like his own reputation. Suddenly she's apologising for all the bad things she thought about him even though these opinions are justified.
