I consider myself lucky to have found a reprinted edition of this most excellent book. I was so impressed by the story that I will be looking out for more of Robert Neill's work from now on! A cracking, creepy tale peopled with vibrant (though not always pleasant) characters and a plot that is a real page turner. If I have one grumble, it's that this recent reprint has been packaged to look like the contemporary glut of vampire/witch teen novels currently damming the market - with a raven haired camisoled maiden on the cover yawn! Not only historically inaccurate - I doubt any of the Pendle women owned such a garment - but an insult to the talented Neill and this superb novel.
