The blanket comes in it's own plastic toggle bag and is essentially a stripy garter stitch in green and various shades of pink, with a pink ribbed border and two decorative heart patches. It's 90cm by 70cm and is also available in either blue tones or neutral tones. The blanket is 100% cotton so should get softer with washing.
This would be great if you wanted to give a knitted blanket as a present for a new baby but can't knit. I think if you are an accomplished knitter then (if you have the time) you could probably make something just as good from the wool in your stash in a few days.
Even knowing the size from the description, it was larger than I was expecting it to be - which was a pleasant surprise. It would do well for slightly older children as either a car seat or pushchair blanket. And older children will love the fact that it comes with its own bag and will probably take complete ownership of it. (Or take the blanket out and use the bag for their bricks and other toys :) ).
At £19.99 (current price) there are cheaper blankets out there (from a purely practical point of view I think cotton cellular blankets are the best buy) but this is beautifully made and would make a lovely gift.
