4.0 out of 5 stars Decent for price., 17 Dec. 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: CHEAP DELL OPTIPLEX PC COMPUTER 500GB HDD 3GB RAM 19" SCREEN WINDOWS 7 (Personal Computers)
This computer is very decent for the low price of it, I am a college student and I bought this computer so that I had a computer for typing up essays and it is very well at doing it, the picture can be a bit miss leading, the monitor displayed in the picture isnt the one that you recieve but it is 19" so it doesnt really natter, the keyboard and mouse which came with mine were both logitech which I was very pleased with, the dell tower in the picture however is correct, however it doesnt have a DVD rw drive, just a DVD rom which is a bit disappointing, this computer is capable of supporting 1080p HD video play back, but it isn't very powerful when it comes to gaming. I bought mine from Microdream and they're very good, the computer was dispatched and arrived very quickly.

Hi. I have a technical question about this computer if you can help. I am in New York, but I want to buy this computer for my cousin, who lives in Kosovo. I know I cannot buy him a US computer because we use 110 voltage instead of 220 voltage like Europe, and our plugs are also different. In Kosovo, they use the circular plug prongs to plug appliances in, in the US, they are flat and we also have the third prong that is used for ground. Is the computer you bought the same way, with the circular prongs and for a 220 volt outlet? Any information would be appreciated. It's going to cost me to have the computer shipped to me, then from the US to my cousin in Kosovo, so I want to know that I am getting the right computer from the start.

If you have not yet sent the computer because you are waiting for an answer then go ahead now and don't worry. The cable your cousin needs is widely available in Kosovo and just a plug-in to the computer.

BUY NEW> DON'T BUY THESE. I bought one last Christmas. All arrived and seemed good and in acceptable condition. I soon found out that it was formatted for US use so some re-configuring was required at that time with assistance form the seller. It then kept telling me that the windows 7 was an illegal copy with a blocker to stop Windows shutting it down. This went eventually and I continued. This PC has never had the speed I would have expected and a lot of peculiar things happen from time to time. It has now died after just 8 months (4 of which it was not used as I was abroad) So 4 months and it is scrap as parts are dearer than the original item. I have tried to get support and no-one wants to know. Buy a new one from Argos and get a proper gurantee and support!!!!
