Customer Review

2 of 3 people found the following review helpful
5.0 out of 5 stars Fascinating critical and eyewitness collage which also tells the story, 10 Jun. 2011
This review is from: The Bob Dylan Electric Omnibus Sampler (Backpages Anthologies Book 0) (Kindle Edition)
Both in its own right and a multi-voice companion to the Greil Marcus anthology, this is a superb and very full anthology of writing about Bob from both the heat of the moment and the coolness of hindsight. The big beasts are here: Ian MacDonald, Al Aronowitz, Dave Marsh, Andy Gill, Michael Gray, Paul Williams, Mick Gold, Sylvie Simmons, Mick Farren, Charlie Gillett, Paul Zollo, Charles Shaar Murray, Michael Simmons, Richard Williams, Harvey Kubernik, Mick Brown, Phil Sutcliffe, Steve Turner, Nick Kent, Martin Colyer, Jon Savage, Nick Hasted, Barney Hoskyns, Ken Barnes and many more. Volume 1 takes us from the start to the 1974 Band tour; Volume 2 picks up the story with Blood On The Tracks and brings it all back home. Unmissable.

That's what you say about volumes 1 and 2 of the full edition - so no difference?

Mat Snow says:
Each volume is fantastic, telling the story of Bob's career in two parts, hence two volumes.
