This review is from: Oranges Are Not The Only Fruit (Paperback)
I think everyone of us hopes for "alwyas" in their lives. So did the heroine of this novel. The world seems perfect when we#re young and stable and set in stone for ages. It's not, things change, we change. Time passes by and often who were vital in our lives just disappear one day. Very distressing experience, very painful. I fought, I din't want to let them go. I lost. "Always" doesn't exist and we all have to learn this sooner or later.
Changes are not always for better - as we came to believe nowadays - but they come nonetheless.
Obviously - everyone see things through their own experiences - and like Umberto Eco writes: there is no right meaning of the book. Still "Oranges..." are worth reading, they're thought provoking and maybe even inspiring.
