This review is from: Rockport Women's Anna Lace Up Boot Lace Ups Boots (Apparel)
These have been selling for £130 but I got them for £59, which is what I call a bargain.
I have a problem with footwear because some years ago I had a nasty accident and my foot had to be set with pins and wires. I can move my ankle a bit but the movement is restricted and flat footwear is uncomfortable because my ankle is set at a slight angle and if my foot has to sit flat there is a pull on my calf which is very painful and I find flat shoes/boots too uncomfortable to walk in - and in icy conditions, high heels pose their own dangers.
I need a small heel to be comfortable.
This isn't usually a problem except for winter snow footwear. Hiking/Walking boots are all flat. So are most wellies. So I need sturdy winter boots with a tread on the sole that have a heel. Then I know I can walk on slippy surfaces without the pain a flat boot causes.
So because these have a heel I have bought them. They say the heel is 2 inches high but the sole is quite thick so that reduces the heel height a fair bit - not ideal for me, I wanted an actual 2 inch heel, but they are still better for me than the usual flat heels.
The leather and the build quality is as you would expect from a boot retailing at £130. I take a UK size 6. I bought a UK size 6 and they fit fine.
The added advantage to having this boot over others is that you have a side zip to make sure they are easy to get on and off, but you also have laces at the front to make them fit nice and comfy when you have thick socks on. So, obviously you can loosen the laces to get them on for the first time, fasten the zip and then adjust the laces until they are comfy for you. After that you shouldn't need to mess about with the laces again because you have the zip.
I'm happy with the quality of these boots and absolutely over the moon with the £59 price tag.
EDIT - wore them for the first time in snow this weekend and the tread on them is good. I didn't slip once.
