Very different from other tarot authors,
This review is from: Tarot Made Easy: Get immediate, specific answers to your most pressing questions with this amazingly simple new method (Paperback)
This was my first tarot book I bought in 1990 and dismissed right away. I thought she wrote nonsense. Later I bought many other tarot books, struggled to make a sense out of their ways of interpretation. The World, the Sun, the star, Ace of Cups, all beautiful with those positive cards, nothing really good happened! I also have been learning Astrology since early '70s and one day I looked for one of astrology books in my book shelves, suddenly N. Garen's book I dismissed over 8 years ago drooped on my foot. Since I was about to travel I did a 3- card spread for travel and others, the sun came up and according to hers, she wrote 'You will be putting on a facade, keeping up the illusion of gaiety when there really is none, because the thing you really want, the ingredient or heart's desire, is missing' for a category of 'Others' and for travel, 'If you're going on a trip, it will be disappointing or fruitless...' it turned out be that way! and when I had The world for Ramance, she wrote 'What has been must be let go of for the time being, because the world must take a turn before a new day can emerge....etc. and it all came true! Her interpretation for the cards are very often different from other tarot authors. Even the greatest cards, she often writes opposit meaning from others, that means NOT so great, negative cards again opposit interpretation from others. And more often than not, she turns out be right. I just wonder how she found that out... She also wrote 'The simplified Keltic Cross came about because I found that more times than not the full Keltic Cross contained information extraneous to the answer of my question'. I also found this to be true for me. One disadvantage of her book is that there are 32 categories to look at and choose, I became so dependent on these and don't learn cards' meaning very well. So when I want to make a story I only read categories of 'In a Reading' 'Number' then 'Focus'. Another thing what amazed me is about NOT so good card ' 8 of Swords' for 'Endings' category, she wrote 'Someone will find that when given the freedom he or she wanted, he or she won't want it after all' it happened to someone I know! How did she know, where the idea came from!? I bought 5 of her books and gave to my children and friends. With her book one doesn't need to study tarot reading. I use many other books for readings but somehow I always come back to this one to see the alternatives and see what happens. She's really amazing!!!
