Customer Review

VINE VOICEon 20 June 2010
I heard 'Come and Get it' from a compilation CD and knew that I had to investigate further.

Eli has a superb voice number one, back in the traditions of Al Green, Percy Sledge and dare I say it the Young Stevie Wonder. Tied up with the better songs on this album it makes for a winning combination that's pretty much irresistable.

My only question is its longevity. I've been through the album 5 times or so now and the stand out tracks really are crackers ( I wont name them to annoy those who'd only take the odd number as downloads ) but for me there are one or two fillers that just don't quite hack it.

But, having said that overall it is a very satisfying and genuinely exciting listen that doesn't ape the 60's soul sounds of Motown and Philly, but adds a bit of naughties magic.

Definitely a worthy purchase and a lovely compliment to any music lovers collection.
