"Of the books I've read on the subject, this is the best. the story itself is distressing, of course, yet enjoyable and gripping. Lobban appears to be one hell of a fearsome character, yet likeable and humble. The subject is ruthless, yet mercifully written. The author genuinely appears to have simply tried to describe events as they happened from his perspective and the innocent writing style about such a malicious and tainted subject will ensure readers, even some who generally don't enjoy the genre, will find the book enjoyable. The book goes a considerable way to deglamourise the lifestyle, and is one many youths could learn from as they are navigating their way through the tougher estates in Scotland. In short, strangely enjoyable and likeable, finished in 2 days and looking extremely forward to book 2!"
